Learners to get discount lessons

A new initiative to make learner drivers safer has been introduced

26th February 2007

Young motorists are to be given discounts of up to 90 per cent on advanced driving lessons in a bid to make roads safer, Scottish Transport Minister Tavish Scott has announced.

The added incentive for teenagers in Grampian to attend the courses was welcomed by road safety officers. Other police forces are watching the pilot scheme before introducing the idea to their own region's roads.
