Smart takes green option

Staff at Smart's UK HQ are praying for a blustery day after receiving planning permission for a new wind turbine

22nd February 2007

The totem-pole design will be used to generate power at the site in Milton Keynes, Bucks, to run a fleet of electric ForTwos.

A spokeswoman said: "This is part of a zero emission transport solution. Once the project is finished, we'll be able to charge our Smarts on site, there will be no exhaust emissions and no fossil fuels to make the electricity."
