Attending the Geneva show

09th March 2007

What is it?
The 2007 Geneva Motor Show is the ideal spring break for any new car addict. This is the 77th event since 1905, and it's among the world's biggest exhibitions.

How do I get to Geneva?
It is a comfortable drive from the UK, and flights take less than two hours. The airport, served by several budget carriers, is close to the Palexpo centre staging the show.

When does the expo run?
The event opens to the public on Thursday 8 March, and continues until Sunday 18 March. Visit from 10am-8pm in the week, and 9am-7pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

How much does it cost?

Adult admission is 14 Swiss francs (£5.80), with children and OAPs at eight francs (£3.50). Group rates for more than 20 bring the adult price down to nine francs (£3.70). Tickets can be bought in advance at the www.salon-auto.ch website.

Where can I stay?
Most hotels nearby are booked up, but accommodation is a short drive away - or a 10-minute bus or tram ride - in the city centre. Log on to www.geneve-tourisme.ch for help finding somewhere to stay.
