Matt-black Phantom gets huge 24-inch rims
17th March 2007
New versions of the XKR and Phantom were unveiled, both of which were painted in unique dark shades. The Jaguar's colour is known as Celestial Black, and is only available on the special-edition Portfolio model. Just 100 XKRs will be sold here in this range-topping trim. They will be priced about £5,000 over the standard car, and come with a range of extras including bigger brake discs with bright red calipers, 20-inch alloys and special badging.
Inside, the XKR Portfolio features upgraded leather with unique stitching on the seats and dash, plus a fresh facia that's available in either aluminium or wood finish. Changes to the Phantom are far more substantial. The car is the work of Mansory, an independent German modifying outfit, and it gets massive 24-inch alloys and a distinctive matt-black paintjob. Inside, the cabin is decked out in contrasting cream Alcantara.
Mansory has also retuned the 6.8-litre V12 to deliver 490bhp, which gives the car a 168mph top speed. One other big difference is that the firm has changed the car's name from Phantom to Conquistador!
