Snuggle up to a roadside friend

Drivers who think life on the road is a little too lonely might find the answer lies with roadside hotel chain Travelodge

The firm's network of stop-overs is introducing the 'Cuddillow' - the UK's first cuddling cushion, created following a customer survey. Researchers found 57 per cent of its guests felt lonely sleeping without their partners, and more than a quarter had to hug a pillow to help nod off. As a result, the firm developed the metre-long two-armed bedding. The pillows are being trialled at hotels in Durham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham, and will go nationwide if successful.
