Sold to an anonymous collector at the recent Race Retro motorsport show at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, the Mini Cooper S clinched the 1965 RAC Rally with Rauno Aaltonen at the wheel. The Finn went on to win the world championship that season.
After a few more rallies, it was left unused for 30 years before a full restoration a decade ago. Despite now being a regular participant on historic events, the tiny racer has covered only 4,825 miles from new.
