Renters demand green machines

Rental companies need to be greener, says survey

Nearly three in four drivers who hire cars want rental firms to include green models in their line-ups, according to research from online travel agent Priceline.com.

The firm said 72 per cent of users wanted to choose from 'economical, environmentally-friendly hybrid vehicles'. Half of those surveyed also said they would be happy to pay extra for the privilege.
