AA report blasts UK road repairs

Potholes, missing road markings and signs hidden in bushes are just some of the features of UK roads, according to the AA

That's despite Government claims that its National Road Maintenance Survey shows improvement.

The breakdown group says Britain's roads are in a worse state now than they were in the Seventies, and quick fixes are to blame. A spokesman for the AA said: "There can be no glossing over the underlying decay, which is down to a patch-and-mend approach. Potholes aren't properly repaired, so they come back."
