Nissan is splashing out more cash on the Qashqai

The firm is investing £2.4million in its plant in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, to increase production of the compact crossover.

Bosses want to boost Qashqai volume by 20 per cent to keep pace with customer demand. Since its launch in December last year, more than 60,000 units have rolled off the line – it’s forecast a further 130,000 will be built by next spring.
