While the facelifted city car made its debut at the Barcelona Motor Show, we are still waiting for the firm to reveal if and when it will arrive in the UK..
In the meantime, though, buyers in this country will have to make do with the revamped model's smart new interior trim. As you can see in our official pictures, the new Chevy has a fresh grille and a sporty bumper.
The headlamps remain unchanged, but the pronounced lower air intake and foglamps give it a more modern look.
There's also a new rear bumper and side skirts, while roof bars give the facelifted car a chunky appearance. The changes represent the third restyle forthe Matiz, which started life as a Daewoo in 1998.
Yet while the looks have changed, technical specifications are unaltered, so buyers will be able to choose between the existing 800cc thee-cylinder or 1.0-litre four-cylinder engines.
The revisions will help the city car compete with a host of new arrivals in the months ahead, with Fiat's 500, the all-new Renault Twingo and a fresh Ford Ka all on the way.
Despite the Matiz's improved trim, prices are unaffected, and cars with the updated upholstery are already on sale. The entry-level model starts at £6,145 while flagship 1.0 SE+ models cost £8,250.
