Mega Merc on the way

It's the mightiest Mercedes C-Class - and it's on its way here!

Mercedes C-Class C63 AMG
Quickest-ever Mercedes C-Class boasts 457bhp

11th July 2007

The C63 AMG is the quickest small saloon ever from the three-pointed star. Boasting 457bhp, the 6.3-litre V8 unit's acceleration is blistering, with 0-62mph taking only 4.5 seconds.

The modified exterior gets 18-inch alloys and a bodykit that features front and rear spoilers with deep sideskirts. Wider wheelarches have been fitted to cover a track that has been broadened by 35mm. Hidden under the skin is a new three-link front axle plus stiffened and lowered suspension.

Larger brakes, a three-stage ESP system and uprated seven-speed automatic transmission also feature in the barnstormer. Inside, there are heavily bolstered sports seats along with a race-inspired, three-spoke, flat-bottomed wheel. No prices have yet been announced, but the first right-hand-drive examples will arrive here in mid-2008.
