Dust the job on spills

Remove unsightly driveway oil stains with this powder cleaner from Laser Tools

Powder can absorb fluids spilled on drive

05th August 2007

If you have ever carried out DIY maintenance on your car, then you will know how easy it is to spill oil, engine coolant or even antifreeze on your driveway or garage floor. The problem is that if you leave it, the stain will quickly become a permanent eyesore on brick or concrete surfaces.

Tool manufacturer Laser claims it has the solution with its Isol 8. The new product is an organic cleaner based on recycled coconut husk that can absorb a variety of fluids. We poured patches of oil, coolant and antifreeze on a paved driveway to see if Isol 8 could shift the mess.

Emptying the contents around and on the affected area took seconds, and right from the first contact, it was immediately apparent that the powder had started to absorb the mess. For best results, it’s recommended that Isol 8 is left to work into the spillage for a few minutes.

Clearing the final mess takes no more than a dustpan and brush, and once swept away, there was no stain to be seen on the tarmac. What’s more, the manufacturer claims that Isol 8 will not only get rid of spillages, but also clean your hands – as the product is a non-toxic organic powder, it won’t be harmful to the skin.

Isol 8 organic driveway cleaner, price: £10.99, rating: 4/5, buy from: 01926 815888, www.lasertools.co.uk
