EX will spearhead the launch of Nissan’s Infiniti premium brand in Europe next year
This stylish new SUV has a huge responsibility – it will spearhead the launch of Nissan’s Infiniti premium brand in Europe next year.

Called the EX, the 4x4 measures 4,631mm in length and will rival the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The muscular looking five-seater is powered by a 3.5-litre 290bhp V6 petrol engine, and comes with all-wheel drive as standard. This is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual and sport modes.

Design cues include a distinctive grille, L-shaped headlamps with optional adaptive bi-xenons and LED taillights. Chromed twin exhaust pipes, lighting from the driver’s door mirror and parking sensors based on four external cameras add to the luxury feel.

The EX will also be the first Infiniti model to feature Scratch Shield, a ‘self-healing’ paint system. The surface molecules ‘flow’ microscopically to fill minor blemishes until they disappear over the course of a week.

Inside, the newcomer has a seven-inch colour screen built into the dash- board as part of the infotainment system, which includes a Music Box hard drive for storing songs. The EX will get its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and hit showrooms next autumn.

The model will be joined by the G saloon, G coupé and a successor to the current FX SUV. All these cars will be sold though unique Infiniti dealers. These new showrooms will have high-quality fixtures and fittings to emulate the feel of a luxury hotel.
