RAC offering cheaper checks

Performing a vehicle history check is one of the first precautions to take when buying any used car – and the cost of making one just got even lower. Motorists can now carry out a Car Data Check for only £5, thanks to the RAC.

According to the recovery organisation’s statistics, one in three cars in the UK has a potential problem which would be highlighted by a thorough history check. Director of the RAC, Joe Doyle, explained: “Buying a car with a hidden history not only leaves motorists open to putting their lives at risk, but could leave them seriously out of pocket.”

The reduced price is designed to en-courage motorists to perform a check much earlier in the buying process. Said Doyle: “Consumers spend a considerable amount of time and money deciding which car to buy, only to find that it has a suspect history. Knowing upfront that a model is all it appears to be will give the consumer the confidence to go and view the car, and perhaps make an offer.” Buy your history check online and you also get access to the RAC’s Car Buyers’ website, which provides useful tips if you’re purchasing second-hand.
