You wait ages for a new Aston Martin... and then three come along at once!

The British brand unveiled the stunning new DBS at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week, and it is flanked on the stand by a pair of sizzling special-edition models. The hot V8 Vantage N400 and DB9 LM take inspiration from the company’s endurance racing successes at the Nürburgring and Le Mans respectively.

Aston enthusiasts will love the Vantage N400, which sees power increased from the standard V8-engined model’s 380bhp to 400bhp. It’s fitted with a new Sports Pack, which comprises revised suspension and lightweight graphite-finished alloys to deliver an even sharper driving experience than the normal Vantage.

Interior upgrades include black leather seats, alloy dashboard trim and the obligatory numbered plaque. The company will build 240 coupé versions of the N400, as well as 240 roadsters, and customers are set to be offered a choice of three exterior colours: classy Storm Black and Lightning Silver, plus the lurid Karussell Orange finish of the car in our picture.

Next up is the DB9 LM, which celebrates the GT1 class victory of Aston’s DBR9 at Le Mans earlier this year. Only 124 examples of the special-edition coupé will be produced – to reflect the car’s first place in the 24-hour event.

The LM comes with red brake calipers, a smoked mesh grille and the DB9 Sports Pack as standard. And to complement the special’s silver paintjob, the cabin features black leather upholstery, unique trim and a numbered plaque. However, there is no doubt about the star of Aston’s display at Frankfurt; the DBS flagship (which we showed you in Issue 909) is making its European debut. The supercar was first seen in the James Bond film Casino Royale, and its 6.0-litre V12 engine has been tuned to deliver 510bhp – that’s 70bhp more than the standard DB9.

As a result, the DBS completes the sprint from 0-62mph in only 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 191mph. It wears a superspy-sized price tag of £160,000, and will hit showrooms early next year.

The new DB9 LM will cost £124,000, with the N400 commanding a £10,000 premium over the normal version of the DB9, and starting from £92,000.
