The much-heralded Jaguar XF was being well-pawed by visitors at Frankfurt

The cleaners were out in force on the Jag stand - always a sure sign that the already well-thumbed paintwork has been a hit with visitors. Not surprisingly really, when its stand's sole attention was focussed on the firm's most important car in its 85-year history. The XF will certainly need to be top cat if its sights are firmly set on taking the fight straight to the BMW 5-series and the Audi A6. The newcomer is pretty much unchaged from the sensational C-XF concept first glimpsed at the Detroit Show earlier this year. After the lacklustre S-Type, the XF gives the Coventry firm a dynamic prescence in this ultra competitive saloon sector.
