Dremel Multi-Vise

It’s time for the vice squad!

Dremel’s latest product, the Multi-Vise, allows you to work hands-free in your garage – so we put it through its paces.

Cutting, filing, bending and even wire brushing and painting are all made much easier if the part you are hacking, heating or hammering does not move about, and in this respect the Dremel more than proved its worth.

One slight annoyance was that you had to assemble the tool prior to use, but after it had been put together, it provided a tight grip and clamped to our workbench with relative ease. The maker claims it can be attached to any bench up to two inches thick, and it was able to accommodate a wide variety of work. The vice can rotate a full 360 degrees, while it has a tilt angle of up to 50 degrees. To maintain position, the device can be locked at any stage of the job.

The cushion pads provided excellent protection for our all test objects. If you over-tighten, there’s even a quick release button, so that you can swiftly and easily decrease the hold of the vice.
