SUV gets SEAT go-ahead

The Spanish carmaker has signed off on the Tribu concept

Three and five-door Tribu models will be made

23rd September 2007

Tribu is go. We can reveal that SEAT bosses have given the dramatic Frankfurt show car the green light for the showrooms.

The aggressive looking Tribu SUV is the firm’s first model to be exclusively designed by newly appointed stylist Luc Donckerwolke, who was drafted in from Lamborghini. And it will go on sale within two years.

Better still, for buyers who prefer either more style or practicality, the Spanish company will offer both three and five-door variants of the Volkswagen Tiguan rival.

The newcomer’s smart front end signals the future of SEAT design and will appear on the forthcoming Bolero saloon. This car will replace the Toledo, but will be a traditional four-door rather than an MPV crossover. The Bolero is expected to have plenty of space inside, though, as it will share its platform with the Volkswagen Passat. The model is set to debut by the end of 2008.
