Test drive Nissan's new GT-R

The countdown to the launch of the new Nissan Skyline GT-R is well under way, and Sony PlayStation 3 owners will soon be able to have an exclusive test drive of the four-wheel-drive supercar.

To coincide with the Tokyo Motor Show in October, Sony is releasing a free demo of its forthcoming game, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which includes a pre-production version of the Japanese supercar, complete with black disguise front and rear. What's more, players will be able to compare this test mule against the 2005 GT-R concept, as well as Mitsubishi's new Evo X and the latest Subaru Impreza STI.

The free demo will be available as an online download from 24 October, while GT5 Prologue goes on sale in December. To add further confusion, Prologue itself is a preview of Gran Turismo 5, which is due to arrive in 2008.
