Prepare for a shock! Tests have proved the Tesla electric sports car can cover 245 miles on a single charge. That gives the green machine (right) a range only 50 miles shorter than the petrol-powered model it’s based on – the Lotus Elise.
Part-developed by the Norfolk firm, the eco-friendly roadster, which will appear next spring, has carbon fibre body panels, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries and a 248bhp electric motor. The unit can propel the car from 0-60mph in four seconds.
