We've already had a shady front view of Subaru's new flagship Impreza, and now the firm has released these two images of its high performance hot hatch.
Viewed from the rear, the STI is even more striking than its predecessor. It no longer has its saloon car boot, but buldging wheel arches and huge exhaust pipes set the newcomer apart from lesser models.
The STI also features the biggest bonnet scoop ever fitted to a standard production Subaru, which is a signal of just how extreme the flagship model is set to be.
Powered by a turbocharged 2.5-litre flat-four cylinder engine, the STI will deliver around 300bhp through the Japanese firm’s latest all-wheel drive system.
The date shown on these official pictures indicates when the high performance will be officially unveiled – on the press day of the Tokyo Motor Show in October.
