White vehicles are a hit for Volkswagen, but their popularity was discovered by accident. The Tiguan unveiled at the official launch was white, and the shade has long been a favourite on the latest Golf GTI.

However, according to our sources, bosses realised the appeal of the colour only when the German press office ordered two white Touaregs by mistake... and magazines couldn’t get enough of them.
