Four-wheeled Yamaha Tesseract

Four-wheeled Yamaha motorcycle aims to take the streets by storm!

Yamaha Tesseract

21st October 2007

Here’s a machine that could convince car fans to get on their bike – it’s a four-wheeled motorcycle!

The wacky design is called the Yamaha Tesseract, and its additional pair of rims provides extra stability. The wheels are mated to a special suspension system which lets the rider lean the ‘bike’ around bends and park it upright. Yet despite having two more rims than normal, it’s not much wider than an ordinary motorcycle, according to Yamaha.

It’s set to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. But the unusual configuration isn’t the Tesseract’s only innovation; it also features a hybrid drivetrain, with a V-twin petrol engine mated to an electric motor
