The 2005 and 2006 champion has quit the team run by his family to join Vauxhall, where he’ll line up alongside newly crowned champion Fabrizio Giovanardi in 2008.
Dynamics has already confirmed Scottish ace Gordon Shedden, who has won eight times for the outfit in the last two seasons, will remain on board, although his team-mate has still to be announced.
“Gordon has had a great season and developed enormously as a driver, so we expect him to be right up front and vying for the title in 2008,” said Dynamics boss Steve Neal. “The team’s momentum is looking really good, with the first year of the Honda Civic under our belts and some great results which we intend to build on.”
At the same time, Neal Jr has been explaining his move. “It was a tough decision, as Dynamics is close to my heart,” he admitted. “But I wanted to do something ‘out of the box’ and go up against Fabrizio to prove to myself whether I can stack up to him on a level playing field. It will answer questions for me.”
