Car makers are often keen to stress how their latest models are influenced by the race track. And now, Recaro has gone the extra mile by naming its innovative new child seat after one!

The Monza is for children aged from three to 12 years old, or weigh- ing between 15kg and 36kg. It in-corporates the very latest technology, and bosses claim that this means it provides market-leading comfort and safety for your little one.

Energy-absorbing elements built into the chair help to shield the child in the event of an accident, while its fixed wings give optimum protection if you’re involved in a side impact.

What’s more, the angle of the headrest can be adjusted to ensure they remain in a safe position when sleeping in the car. It’s fitted with an air-filled cushion for extra comfort, so parents can pump the headrest up from the side of the seat, then let the air out as required by undoing the release valve.

Importantly for a child seat, the Monza is also really easy to install. If your car is equipped with Isofix mountings, the arms integrated into the base of the chair simply fix in place, while owners of older vehicles can secure the Recaro using a standard three-point seatbelt.

But it’s not only safety technology that sets this seat apart. It also has its very own hi-tech sound system, with speakers built into the headrest. All you then have to do to keep your child quiet is plug in an MP3 player. There is even a pocket for storing the device.

Buyers are offered a choice of practical microfibre or fashionable Bellini covers for the seat – but whichever one you go for, the fabric can be removed and machine-washed.

There is also a range of eight colours to choose from, so owners can match the Monza’s finish to the upholstery in their car.
