Ripspeed media centre

Media player’s a small screen star

Take time out on your travels – by watching a movie. Ripspeed’s in-dash media centre has a seven-inch motorised touchscreen with tilt adjustment. It plays music, too!

In addition, the DV920i has an RDS radio complete with 18 FM and 12 AM frequency presets, while the unit’s maximum output is 4x45W. For clearer sound, it also boasts a front and rear subwoofer.

You can even connect your MP3 player to the new system, as it’s compatible with Apple’s iPod mini, iPod nano and iPod video – there is a lead included to ensure you get the highest-quality sound. And the Ripspeed can read DVDs and CDs encoded with MP3 or WMA files, as well as CD-Rs and CD-RWs. It also displays JPEG format digital photographs on its screen.

Add in a pair of video outputs – so owners can connect additional monitors – plus a video input for a rear-facing camera, and it’s a thoroughly comprehensive package. So the integrated security cover is vital to shield it from prying eyes.

The system is on sale only at Halfords, with free demonstrations and fitting at stores nationwide.
