We recently revealed Renault’s next people carrier, complete with its new sliding rear doors. But it looks as though Japanese partner Nissan is ready to use similar mechanisms on its future cars.
This sketch reveals the latest Nissan concept, which will debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January. It’s called the Forum, and is a preview of the brand’s future large models.
A key feature of the newcomer is its trackless sliding doors, which eliminate the need for runners to be fitted down the sides of the car. The Forum’s off-road-inspired styling is further evidence of the firm’s commitment to 4x4s. Nissan already has one of the most comprehensive SUV line-ups available, and is clearly certain of a solid future for 4x4s.
