Schumacher back in a Ferrari F1 car

Michael Schumacher is set to get back behind the wheel of a Ferrari F1 car - but he's not returning to racing.

As part of the Prancing Horse’s winter test programme in Barcelona next week, the F1 legend will take the wheel once again to give his input into the firm's development. However, sources within the seven times world champion’s camp insist that Schumacher has no plans to make an F1 comeback next season.

According to reports Ferrari wants to tap into its former driver's experience of F1 cars without electronic driver aids ahead of the ban on such systems for next year's season.

Even though Schumacher has said he has no desire to step back into an F1 car, Ferrari team boss Jean Todt has made it clear that Schumacher would be welcomed back.

The ace driver will test on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week at the Circuit de Catalunya.
