Buyers of the new BMW 1-Series Coupé can now have the economy of a diesel with the sporty looks of a performance car. The M Sport pack, which was initially reserved for the range-topping 135i, is being offered on the 120d and 123d oil-burners.

The modifications include lightweight 17-inch alloy wheels and low-profile tyres. An aerodynamic package comprising revised bumpers and special exterior trim completes the exterior makeover.

Inside, the upgrades range from special leather sports seats with Alcan-tara trim to an M Sport steering wheel, gearlever and branded door sills. Firmer sports suspension for improved cornering completes the kit. It adds £1,680 to the price of the 120d SE and £1,435 to the 123d SE, and is available now.

These new diesels bring more choice to an already broad 1-Series line-up – and it will expand further with a cabriolet next summer.
