Here’s a Suzuki that really makes a splash. The Maki concept, unveiled at the LA Auto Show, is inspired by California’s surfing culture.

Based on the four-wheel-drive SX4 Sport, it has an open top bodystyle for breezy fun-in-the-sun motoring. Special roof bars fallow it to carry bespoke Suzuki surf boards.

The newcomer also has a beefy body kit with 19-inch alloys, LED taillights and running lamps, a sports exhaust and bright orange paint.

The Makai’s al fresco cabin is complete with four individuallly ventilated and suspended seats, orange trim and a chunky Momo steering wheel. Gadgets include a high output, beach party-themed VeaLink audio system with MTX speakers, and dashboard-integrated Garmin satellite navigation system.
