Here’s a different take on a Porsche. Check out the Carma Concept, which is inspired by the Cayman coupé.

With its projector-style headlamps and low nose, there’s no doubt about its Porsche heritage – but this sleek two-seater isn’t the work of experts at the legendary Stuttgart firm.

The Carma was actually designed as an extreme but user-friendly sports car by the ISD design school in Valenciennes, France.

Using advanced computer modelling, it came up with the most aerodynamic shape possible, while retaining trademark features like the concept’s mid-engined layout and smooth tail. Neat touches at the back include 928-inspired light clusters, but there’s no rear windscreen. The design has a completely flat under-tray. It uses clever ducting to channel air along the car and produce downforce without the need for an ugly spoiler.
