Defender’s sexy at 60!

Meet the most luxurious Defender ever. To celebrate its 60th birthday, Land Rover has given its longest-running model a makeover.

SVX features clear-lens lights and special alloys

30th November 2007

The feature-packed SVX Defender is a limited edition with 200 cars for UK buyers. Metallic black paintwork, tubular side steps, new five-spoke ‘diamond-turned’ alloys and clear-lens lights brighten up the exterior.

Custom-designed Recaro front seats add to the visual drama once you’re inside, while there’s no shortage of technology to play with. A new audio system is included, and it comes with a subwoofer, USB port and an MP3 cradle, while there’s also sat-nav – features rarely associated with the Defender. Of the 200 being built, 140 examples are two-seater soft-tops, complete with a tailor-made black fabric hood. The remaining 60 are four-seater station wagons.

Production starts in the spring, with the first deliveries in early summer. Prices have yet to be released.
