Electric i set to charge into UK

Mitsubishi's electric city car is poised to make its UK debut by 2009

A zero-emission Mitsubishi i could hit the UK by 2009. The electric city car would offer a 100-mile range, and could be charged to 80 per cent of full power in 20 minutes.

It’s set to cost £15,000, but bosses are lobbying the Government to scrap VAT on zero-emission cars. This would cut the price to £12,765.

Mitsubishi has also announced the Shogun could get a stop-start system to cut its CO2, while a seven-seat Shogun Sport is due in 2009.
