Side-swiping accidents involving foreign lorries could soon become a thing of the past.

A Highways Agency Initiative to distribute 40,000 free window-mounted lenses at the port of Dover in Kent has resulted in a 59 per cent reduction of cases of HGVs hitting other vehicles when changing lanes. Now a further 90,000 of the devices, which improve a driver’s field of vision, will be given out at other ports in the UK and France.
