Practical Fabia names its price
If you’re after more boot for your buck, look no further than the new Skoda Fabia estate. Three petrol and three diesel engines are on offer, divided into 1, 2 and 3 trims. Prices start at £9,360 for the 69bhp 1.2 Fabia 1, while a mid-range 2 with an 79bhp 1.4 TDI will set you back £11,935. The range-topping 104bhp 1.9 TDI in 3 trim costs £13,775.

Become a Rock star in the wet
Take control this Christmas with a wet-grip driving experience at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Northants. Now open to the public for the first time, the session takes place on the circuit’s £1.5million ‘Drivesafe’ skid pan. This features a special kick plate which causes cars to slide sideways and teaches motorists how to recover control. The day-long course costs £175.
