Magellan sat-nav

Sat-nav on a diet

Slim and slinky is what Magellan is calling its fresh 1200 pocket-sized sat-nav range.

Sat-nav

23rd December 2007

Featuring a brand new sleek look, it has been designed with portability in mind, and boasts a 3.5-inch colour anti-glare touchscreen and user-friendly menu. The unit comes with the latest Navteq maps of Britain and Northern Ireland.

It also features thousands of points of interest, such as hotels, restaurants, airports and petrol stations. A phone number and address are included for each POI, and the device will also tell you how far away the selection is.

Featuring what Magellan calls ‘turn it on and go’ navigation, it’s claimed to be one of the fastest units on sale when it comes to finding satellite signals. Also available is the 1215 model, which costs £129, and contains all the functions of the 1200, but with more maps loaded to take in an extra 24 European countries. Both newcomers are available now through the usual online and retail stores, including Carphone Warehouse.
