The Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster may cost £225,000, but the supercar has one of the fiddliest fabric tops around.
That’s why US-based Genaddi Design has created a carbon fibre roof that the firm reckons is simpler to fit. The super-light system is made from four pieces, which allows owners a wide range of roof permutations, from fully enclosed to targa and open top.
And the good news for track day fans is that the roof will stay in place at speeds up to 185mph – as opposed to the current set-up, which can’t be used above 100mph.
All the pieces can be stowed within the car, and should the heavens open, it only takes a minute to put the roof in place. Production begins in May 2008, and the hood is available from Genaddi, as well as some Lambo dealers. It costs £13,000.
