Arash AF-8

Brit supercar firm unveils second Ferrari rival

News of new supercar from ambitious British firm.

Supercar fans will have ‘Arash’ of new models later this year! British marque Arash Motor Company has unveiled its all-new AF-8 as a sister car to the bigger AF-10.

The Cambridgeshire firm’s AF-8 will use the same 7.0-litre V8 as Chevrolet’s Corvette Z06. It should hit 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds and a 204mph top speed. But AMC, formed by entrepreneur Arash Farboud, is also investigating derv power for its new £120,000 two-seater.

As with its larger sibling, the AF-8 has the firm’s signature rear-facing side ducts to provide cooling for the front carbon ceramic brake discs. However, unlike the AF-10, it does not have Le Mans racer-style butterfly doors. Instead, there’s a roof-mounted air intake and raised front wing, plus an ‘active’ back wing and diffuser to ensure the rear downforce matches that at the front.

While the AF-8 has been designed to rival the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430, the AF-10 will use a supercharged 7.0-litre V8 to go up against the bigger Murciélago and 599GTB. But prices are tipped to be higher than the mooted £172,000 when the AF-10 arrives this autumn.
