Want muscle car looks without V8 running costs? Chrysler thinks it has the answer: the 300C SRT-Design.
Powered by a 3.0-litre diesel, the pumped-up executive model offers all the style of the petrol SRT-8. But it promises nearly double the economy – up from 20mpg to 35mpg.
What’s more, the new oil-burner puts out 215g/km of CO2 – which is 115g/km less than the 300C SRT-8.
As you can see, the styling hasn’t been toned down in the hunt for bet-ter efficiency. The SRT-Design model features 20-inch alloys, wide wheel-arches, a beefy bodykit and an eye-catching chrome mesh grille.
Inside, standard equipment is generous, with satellite navigation, leather sports seats and carbon fibre trim all included. The launch of the diesel-powered SRT-Design coincides with a facelift across the 300C line-up, and the new variant is priced at £32,495 in saloon form, while the practical estate costs £33,245.
If you pick the high-performance petrol SRT-8, you’ll pay £40,995. The cheapest diesel model in the revised range weighs in at £27,495.
