Korean firm Kia brought a little Soul to the Geneva show by unveiling three differently trimmed concepts.
All based around the same practical five-door body each has its own personality. With its mean black paint work and red interior the Soul Burner is the aggressive bad boy of the trio, while the gold trimmed Soul Diva is aimed at the style conscious female buyer. And lastly the poetically named Soul Searcher is the introverted version designed to help you relax.
But look beyond the personalized exteriors and flashy cabin fabrics and the modern and chunky shape of the Soul’s body reveals the look of the firms’ new supermini MPV production car, which will debut at the Paris Motor show later this autumn.
Aimed squarely at cars like the Nissan Note, it will go on sale in the UK early next year. Expect the looks to stay close to the concept. The Korean firm even promises that the options list will offer a big range of personalisation, aimed at making their newcomer appeal to young buyers drawn in by the funky concepts.
In common with nearly other manufacturer at this year’s Geneva show, Kia was keen to show its green credentials. The eco_cee’d concept is a low emission Cee’d that uses stop/start, aerodynamic tweaks and reworked engine mapping to get the family hatch’s emissions down to 106g/km.
