Three red-hot diesel Audis have taken centre stage on the German company's Geneva Motor Show stand.
Top of the bill is the all-new TT TDI. Set to go on sale in the UK late this year, the oil-burner is powered by the firm's acclaimed 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, which returns impressive fuel economy of 50mpg and emits only 140g/km of CO2.
Yet despite its eco-credentials, the diesel TT will be no slouch. With 168bhp, the Audi sprints from 0-62mph in only 7.5 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 140mph. And the 350Nm torque output should translate into devastating in-gear performance.
The TDI will come in both Coupé and Roadster bodystyles, while a six-speed manual gearbox transfers the power to the quattro 4WD.
Cashing in on the TDI limelight is another high-performance diesel model. The R8 V12 TDI is still officially a concept, but its reappearance with a bright red paint scheme shows the firm is committed to putting it into production.
Finally, Audi's engineers have added the mighty 6.0-litre bi-turbo V12 powerplant from the supercar to the Q7 SUV. Unveiled in Geneva, the four-wheel-drive model uses its 500bhp and 1,000Nm of torque to accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds. On sale late this year, the Q7 V12 TDI will cost around £75,000.
