It can be hard for MPVs to get noticed amongst the glamour of a motor show, but Hyundai’s latest people carrier concept was drawing plenty of attention at the Geneva expo.

Previously only seen in sketch for, the HED-5 gives a strong indication of how the Korean firm’s next generation Ford C-MAX rival will look.

The firm is open about its intentions to put such a model into production – the newcomer will be available in the next three years. Using the underpinnings from the i30, the production model will follow the Honda FR-V’s lead and offer seating for six inside.

Expected to be called the i35, the compact MPV will replace the ageing Matrix.
