Loc8tor Lite key detector

Lost keys could be a thing of the past with this hi-tech kit.

By James Baggott

25th March 2008

You walk into the house, put them down in exactly the same place every time, but still they wander off! Car keys have a habit of disappearing, usually when you’ve got to leave fast – which is what makes the new Loc8tor Lite such a brilliant invention.

This credit card-sized gadget helps you identify the location of the lost item, and has a very high success rate. Simply attach one of the two supplied homing beacons to your keys, and then pair it with a corresponding button on the key pad. When you want to find your keys, you turn the handset on, hit the related button and the beacon will automatically be activated and emit an intermittent beep. The handset then uses traffic signal-style lights; they go from red to amber and green as you get closer to the keys, and are accompanied by beeps which increase in frequency.

Problems? Accurate, but sends you only in the general direction. Also, just two homing beacons are supplied.
So why buy? It’s still a brilliant way to track down lost car keys.
