THE world’s fastest production vehicle is about to hit UK roads. The Shelby Super Car Ultimate Aero (right) is powered by a twin-turbo V8, has 1,183bhp and covers 0-60mph in a record 2.8 seconds. Luxury dealer Clive Sutton Premier Marques is now selling the £400,0000 stunner.

New look for hire car site
CONFUSED over hire car costs? Rental firm Alamo says it’s making booking easier with more detailed explanations of all-inclusive rates on its website. Visitors to www.alamo.co.uk can convert prices from local to destination currencies, too. Extras such as GPS, child seats and cover for additional drivers, often paid for locally, are also listed.

Box cleans up 308’s act
A NEW six-speed manual gearbox has been added to Peugeot’s 308 range. Available on the S, Sport and SE HDi 110, it promises to boost economy over the original five-speed. When the cars are fitted with 15 or 16-inch Michelin Energy Saver tyres, these models achieve 62.7mpg, according to Peugeot, and emit 129g/km of CO2. Prices start at £15,395.
