Veyron lookalike ready for action
IS this the Bugatti Veyron’s twin brother? Well, despite its rounded rear, multi-spoke alloys and low-slung stance, it’s actually an entirely different vehicle.
Called the Voisin, it is the brainchild of Portuguese designer Ernesto Freitas and is currently in the computer modelling phase. Freitas plans to power it with the V12 diesel from Audi’s R8 TDI Le Mans concept.
Daihatsu plans its future in 3-D
FORGET LCD screens and head-up displays – the future is 3-D. Daihatsu will have holographic technology in its cars by 2012.
The system presents normal information on a traditional 2-D screen, but if warnings or alerts occur, they are beamed as a 3-D image hovering above the dash.
The technology was displayed in the dash of a car at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. But response has been so good that developer Provision Interactive Technologies has now patented the idea for use by the Japanese car maker.
Click and mix your own Nano
