We've already shown you pictures of the exciting new Alfa Romeo MiTo – but now, it’s the turn of the badge! The Italian company has revealed the first images of its forthcoming baby’s logo.
The distinctive design was chosen by visitors to Alfa Romeo’s website, who were given the opportunity to pick from seven different options. Top brass claimed that each of the proposals was penned to reflect the newcomer’s strong character and funky looks. And as you can see, the winning entry is just as stylish as the car it’s set to appear on.
This isn’t the first time the MiTo has been subject to a public vote. Alfa Romeo originally set up a similar Internet competition to find a name for its new MINI rival. But even though Furiosa got the most online support, it decided to go for MiTo, which refers to the two cities of Milan and Torino – the homes of Alfa Romeo and parent company Fiat respectively.
And Alfa has further boosted the MiTo’s Internet presence by launching a special forum dedicated to its new machine. By logging on to the www.alfamitoblog.it website, fans can get the latest news and videos about the car from the designers and engineers, plus views from enthusiasts and potential buyers. The firm is also offering users the chance to travel to Italy and see the supermini as it undergoes final development.
If you’re not one of those lucky few, you can see the MiTo – and its new badge – in the metal when it makes its official world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.
