There are many treatments on the market that aim to keep your windscreen clear in wet weather. As our tests have proved, they can be effective, but also time consuming to apply and keep topped up. The new CClear from Prosis plans to save you all that trouble.
By simply putting some of the solution into your screenwash reservoir, the concentrate is added to your glass every time you clean it. Supplied in a 200ml bottle, you dilute CClear in a 25:1 ratio, giving you a potential five litres from each pack. The liquid does a good job as a screenwash, cleaning effectively and drying quickly. However, as a rain repellent, it struggles to match specialist treatments.
Unless there are large droplets, water does not readily shift from the screen. This improved as speeds increased, and CClear could be seen making a difference around the legal limit. Yet even then, its water dispersal wasn’t as rapid as products which are applied directly to the glass.
As a replacement screenwash, CClear certainly has a role as it does ease water away faster than standard versions. But those looking for full rain repellent performance will be disappointed.
Prosis CClear Hydrophobic Screen Wash concentrate Price: £4.69 Contact: 0845 241 0005, www.prosis.info/cclear/index.html Problems? Doesn’t bead water as effectively as direct-application competitors. Shows some smudging. So why buy? A maintenance and hassle-free solution for dispersing water and cleaning glass.
