Geely TX4

Hot rod cab fares well with crowds at Beijing expo.

Here's a cab that you may struggle to follow! Called the Geely TX4 it's a racy version of the traditional black Taxi seen everyday on the streets of London.

Based on the standard model, which is built under license in China, the eye-catching newcomer gets a number of wild modifications. Externally there are wide six-spoke alloy wheels that poke out from under the wings, while the bodywork gets a special metallic blue finish.

Look closely and you'll spot the chunky silver running boards, twin exhaust pipes built into the rear bumper and the large chrome grille.

There's been even more effort put into the cabin. All the seats and door trims get white leather, the steering wheel is wood-rimmed and powerful sound system has been installed. Finally, a picture of Big Ben hanging in the rear of the cab reminds Chinese passengers of the TX4's origins.

Sadly, despite the outlandish looks the Geely gets the same 2.4-litre diesel motor as the standard car.

Company bosses are also keen to point out that there are no plans to produce this concept.
