Special Spider gets kitted out

Three grand’s worth of options on Alfa’s stunning Spider, and the cost to you is zero. That’s what the firm is offering on its summer special, to be badged Spider Limited Edition.

Only 200 examples will be available, based on the standard version of the soft-top. The extras comprise 19-inch alloy wheels, special Italian Frau leather upholstery and electric heated front seats and door mirrors, both with a handy memory function. There’s also the Blue&Me hands-free infotainment system, with voice rec­ognition and a media player.

Four bespoke colour combinations are offered – these include a Ghiaccio White version (above) with a natural black interior and an Alfa Red exterior with a black cabin. Under the bonnet is the 2.2-litre JTS 185bhp petrol engine. It can power the cabrio from 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 139mph.

The Limited Edition costs £25,500 – that’s the same as the standard Spider – and is on sale now.
