At last, here’s a sat-nav that’s right up your street – as it uses real photos of roads! The latest units from NDrive come pre-loaded with aerial pictures of 29 UK cities, helping drivers follow directions with real-life pictures of their surroundings.

Routes are displayed in a choice of four 3D perspectives and a bird’s eye view, and European maps can be added with plug and play memory cards. These include cities throughout France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

The £199 G280 offers multimedia playback through its built-in speaker or headphones, while the G800 adds Bluetooth and an FM transmitter for £315. Both also include speed camera alerts, and are available at the ndriveweb.com website. Meanwhile, rival Binatone has launched a sat-nav that switches to the view from a wireless rear bumper camera when drivers select reverse gear. Log on to www.binatonecarrera.com for more on the T430, which is priced £179.
